The Phu My Solar Power Plant, Binh Dinh’s most extensive photovoltaic initiative, is financed by the Clean Energy Vision Joint Stock Company (NLS), a subsidiary of the Bamboo Capital Group. The project encompasses two phases and three factories with capacities of 120 MW, 110 MW, and 100 MW. Initiated in May 2020, the plant was operational by December 2020, swiftly bringing 216 MW online within seven months. The second phase is set to activate an additional 114 MW by February 28, 2021. PC1, serving as the comprehensive EPC contractor, oversees design, procurement, and installation, including the construction of the 220kW transformer station and the Phu My 220kV substation, with a contract exceeding 10 million USD.
The Phu My solar power plant, representing an investment of over 6,200 billion VND and spanning 380 hectares, is poised to enhance the national power grid with its initial 216 MW capacity. This integration ensures a reliable and affordable energy supply for both residential and commercial use, with a competitive rate of 7.09 cents/kWh (or 1,644 VND/kWh). Upon the completion of its second phase, the facility is expected to generate approximately 520 million kWh annually, sufficient for 200,000 households, while also cutting CO2 emissions by an estimated 146,000 tons yearly. The plant’s establishment marks a significant stride towards Binh Dinh province’s socio-economic advancement, uplifting living standards and fostering environmental conservation.
